My baby...Grendle!

http://students.ou.edu/M/Sierra.P.Mayfield-1/story1.htmlMy son was a powerful monster living down on the in the darkness. My son was so raw that when night fall hit, he went to Herot to see what the warrior did after they were done drinking. When he arrived, he saw that they were asleep, dreaming, and unsuspecting. So he slipped through the door and snatched up thirty men smashed them in their bed and ran out with their bodies and took them back to his lair! He was very pleased with his slaughter. I always wondered how they didn't hear that but any ways hey woke up to a pleasant surprise. Missing thirty of their men they fled. Fled far away where they would be safe from the blood thirsty monster! And when they left, Herot became his home. Hahaha, nahnah na boo boo! My son took your home!

Beowulf

Beowulf? (Eww, that's a weird name!) Who is he? These people speak of him as if he was notorious. They are so welcoming to him. They say he's a Geat, the son of Edgetho and the nephew of Higlac, king of the Geats. He arrived and was brought straight to the king by Wiglaf. He said " Hail Hrothgar! Higalac is my king and cousin; the days of my youth have been filled with glory. Now Grendel's name has echoed through our land. { Ohh! That's nice! He has heard of my great son Grendel! } Then he said "I swam In the blackness of night, hunting monsters out of the ocean, and killing them one by one; death was  my errand and the fate they had earned. Now Grendel and I are called together, and I’ve come." { Ooo and he wants to meet him too! Wow! I like him already!} Then he said "I, alone and with the help of my men, may purge all evil from this hall. I have heard too that the monster’s scorn of men is so great that he needs no weapons and fears nor will I." { Heyy! Wait a minute!.. He wants to kill my son not be Friends with him! That dirty bumm! How dare he?} Then the king went on to explain to him that because the damage my son has done to the hall, their once high rank has dropped tremendously! Then he told him that my son has killed a great deal of his men and shed their blood all over his hall and that he was grateful to have such a courageous warrior come to help them defeat the monster and my son, Grendel. Then they sat down at Beowulf's banquet and discussed the future. I can't believe that this Beowulf guy just decided that he was going to kill my son! How rude! Man, we could have been friends. Ugh his name disgusts me!

Beowulf vs Grendel

The sharpest and hardest iron couldn't harm my great son, Grendel! He was practically immortal. They were coming at him in every directing trying to Peirce his skin with their swords but they couldn't! My son bewitched all men's weapons and blunted every mortal mens' blade. So Beowulf took it upon himself to TRY and do the impossible. He used no weapons once he realized that they were useless.
Grendel snatched at the first Geat he came to. He ripped them apart ant tore him to pieces, sucked out his blood and tossed him aside as if he were an old Christmas present. Then Grendel felt Beowulf's strength! I could see it in his face, he was scared and wanted to run. He didn't realize until then how much strength Beowulf had. My son was help less! Beowulf  was making an example out of him. Grendel shrieked and groaned in pain. Hating Beowulf even more than ever but getting weaker by the moment. My poor baby twisted in pain while Beowulf twisted his arm until it SNAPPED! SNAP! Deep in his shoulder his bones and muscles split.
A prince of Geats, has killed my son! Beowulf is going to pay, he's going to pay with his life and suffer just as he made my one and only son do.

Me and Beowulf's fight!

Then here comes Beowulf, swimming in my waters that I've ruled for a half a hundred years, after he killed my son, and he was uninvited! Who does he think he is? So I welcomed him...with my claws of course! I clutched him savagely, and tried and tried to hurt him but I couldn't! Ugh! So i carried him to my home only to realize that it was someone else's battle hall! Oops! Then my monster buddies, being the monsters they are, followed me, beating and scratching at him viciously. Then he found a little hiding space. Where the waters heat couldn't hurt him and nothing in the lake could attack him through the buildings high arching roof. Then he saw me and decided he was going to get bold. He swung his sword at me and aimed right for my head! Oh no he didn't! He obviously didn't know that no sword could slice my evil skin, that Hrunting was useless and cant hurt me!
We wrestled and I ripped and tore and clawed at him. I bit holes in his helmet and nothing was working! He was still going strong! Then he dropped his sword and I thought he was done but no, he wasn't. He came after me almost like he was eager for something...something like fame.
Then he got really angry and his sudden strength showed it! He raised his arm and grabbed me by the shoulder! Then he threw me to the ground but I got right back up and went HAM! I was cluthching my claws and wildly tearing at him! Finally i got him to the ground and pulled out my dagger to avenge my only son! (I would have cleaned it if I Knew i was going to be used for such a special occasion!) But when I stabbed him he wasn't harmed because of that stupid mail shirt he had on! If it wasn't for that he would've died there at the bottom of the Earth just like Edgetho's son.
Then Beowulf grabbed a sword off the wall and raised it over his head to strike me. Before I could lift a finger he sliced me at the neck! Rude...right? That's OK though because I'll be watching him until the day he dies...from hell. =(

Yayy! Beowulf finally died!

http://students.ou.edu/M/Sierra.P.Mayfield-1/story%204.htmlIt was the final Battle! I watched as Beowulf said his good byes to his fellow followers. Little did they know this would be his last. He told them that if he knew he could beat the beast without a sword or weapons he would. Then he went on to Bragg about how he crushed my son, Grendel, (blah blah! He got lucky) and tore him apart limb from limb =(. He told them that when the dragon approaches him he means to stand, not run from his shooting flames, stand till fate decides who wins. His heart was firm and his hands still and he needed no hot words. He wanted them to stand near by to see who would survive and take the dragons treasure. He believed he was the only one who could do it and he was determined.
When he reached the hidden entrance he roared out a battle cry. I don't know why he did that because he woke up the dragon! Dummy! But anyway, he woke up the dragon and he was not too pleased to see Beowulf. The dragon rose and began to breathe his hot breath! (He had some bad morning breath, so bad he was breathing fire...literally!) Beowulf put up his shield and the dragon began to move in. Before you knew the war had begun.
Beowulf raised his sword and struck the dragon. He wounded the dragon but broke the blade of his sword in the process. Ooh after that he really made the dragon mad! The dragon leaped on Beowulf and went crazy! He was blowing his morning breath every where and thrashed and beat at him! I need some popcorn this is just marvelous!
Then to make everything just dandy for me I noticed that all of his followers left him! Hahaha, they ran for their lives. Wait...except for one! Wiglaf? He stayed?! Then he dashed through the hidden passage to go help his friend! Ugh!
Wiglaf brought him back, anxious because Beowulf was still alive. Beowulf told Wiglaf that he thanked his father(God) for the gold and jewels. Then he told Wiglaf that he wanted him to lead his people and to get his "brave" Geats to build him a tomb. Then he died!! Yess! Finally!
